Amy Atwater
Amy Atwater is a paleontologist, author, and science communicator based in Colorado. She is the Director of Paleontology at Dinosaur Ridge, a world-famous fossil site, and the 2026 President of the Colorado Scientific Society.
Amy is passionate about making science accessible and engaging, especially for young learners. Her debut children’s book, The Fossil Keeper’s Treasure, invites readers to explore the excitement of prehistoric life and how every fossil tells a story.
She is also the co-creator and co-host of the paleontology podcast, Weird & Dead (rated PG-13) and is a professional guide for fossil expeditions with Dinosaur Trips.
Through public outreach, storytelling, and social media (@mary_annings_revenge on Instagram), Amy shares her love of ancient life with audiences of all ages.
